Reserving Items from lists |
|
Please be aware that Gifts & Lists does not handle purchasing of gifts. When you reserve a gift off Gifts & Lists
you will then need to go to the merchant's site to complete your purchase. We also do not handle delivery of gifts.

Both members and guests can reserve items, though the process difers slightly with each.
See the sections below for further details:

1. Reserving as a Gifts & Lists Member
First locate the friend or family member you wish to purchase a gift for (If you've been given ID and Password
for a list you can skip this stage). You should be able to
see their profile and a selection of their lists which are available to you:
Select the list you're interested and you should see all the items which are still available for reserving.
As people reserve items they are removed
from the list so that the recipient does not receive these more than they would like. Clicking on the Item's
image will take you to the vendor's website.
If you find an item you'd like to reserve and purchase you can click on the Select
button to expand the details.
This will bring up the menu below where you can choose a quantity you'd
like to purchase and when you'd like to inform the recipient. See here for further details on informing
the recipient.
Select Reserve Item to perform the reservation - you will be asked to confirm this
action (shown below) or select the Cancel button to cancel the action.
After confirming your reservation the item will be added to your Reserved Items page. Here you can
see a summary of all the items you've purchased for different people. You can also click on the image or the
'view gift' link to take you to the merchant's site and purchase your gift.
If, for some reason, you've changed your mind about purchasing the item you can also click the remove button
to un-reserve it and the item will become available for other people to reserve.

2. Reserving as a Guest
First locate the list your interested in. You can either search for it or enter the Unique ID
and password your friend or family member has given to you.
Once selected you should see a detailed breakdown of the list
and all the items which are still available for reserving. As people reserve items they are removed
from the list so that the recipient does not receive these more than they would like. Clicking on the Item's
image will take you to the vendor's website.
If you find an item you'd like to reserve and purchase you can click on the Select
button to expand the details. Select Reserve Item to perform the reservation - you will be asked to
confirm this action (shown below) or select the Cancel button to cancel the action.
After confirming your reservation you will be taken to the Guest Reservation page. Here you can
fill in the extra details guests need to provide in order to reserve an item.
After you have entered your details and clicked on the Reserve button you will be sent an email that
includes a link you must click to complete your reservation. If you do not click the link, the item
will remain available for other people to reserve and you may lose it.
Finally, after clicking on the confirmation link you will be sent a second email confirming this and providing
an 'un-reserve' link should you need to cancel the reservation.
This email will also contain a link to the merchant's website so you can purchase your gift.
